I do not have much experience using Twitter. I have never had an account until I had to make one for this class. Since I have created an account, I have been interacting with other students taking EME2040. I also have been interacting with other education accounts like FSU Education and Florida Education. Twitter may be helpful in the future to connect with people of similar interests.
The digital divide has the potential to create a split between students and can affect a student's academic success. Students with easy access to computers and the internet may have more experience and therefore feel more confident with the materials. This may give those students with easy access an advantage to succeed academically. As a teacher, I will most likely come across students with different digital resources. I will make sure to do my best to help the students who have more difficulty gaining access to digital materials. For example, do partner assignments and students can share one laptop or make them aware of computers on campus. I will try to do some digital and some non-digital assignments to make the class as fair as possible and accommodate all students.
One academic software I will use in the future would include Zoom. I feel that Zoom will be helpful during these times due to the pandemic and people staying home to be safe. Technology is advancing everyday so I believe it will only become more common as we move forward. In addition, I will use Microsoft Word in my classroom. I would like to use this because it gives students reliable software to put their work and practice using technology.
