The school website I visited is Florida State University’s Undergraduate Accounting page. On the public page, I see a short summary of the class that includes what knowledge students will be gaining and what to be prepared for. In addition, it states requirements and prerequisites for students who want to take this class. Lastly, the grade system is explained and includes the grade needed to pass the course.  FSU Undergraduate Bulletin In the future, I envision using technology in my classroom to accomplish my professional responsibilities more efficiently and effectively. For example, I envision myself using technology to communicate with students as well as parents. Technology is an effective way to communicate with many people at once. This may be through a Facebook group or through a page like Canvas. A teacher productivity tool I would use would be Weebly. This way, I will be able to create a website for students and teachers to access and receive information.  I h...

I do not have much experience using Diigo. Although I am not super familiar with it, there are some things that I like. For example, there is a “sticky note” tool that can be used to write down notes on any webpage. This is useful when researching and collecting information. In addition, there is a “bookmark”  feature that allows you to save websites and come back to them later. This is useful when you find information that will be beneficial in the future.  My experience with blogging has been fun. This is my first experience with blogging and it may be something I will keep up in the future. I like that I am able to share my thoughts with the peers around me. It gives me space to write down my thoughts. In addition, it is interesting to hear what my classmates have to say.  A web 2.0 tool that I may use when teaching would be Google Docs. I use this tool quite often right now. I like using this tool because it automatically saves my work and is easy to use. In ad...

I do not have much experience using Twitter. I have never had an account until I had to make one for this class. Since I have created an account, I have been interacting with other students taking EME2040. I also have been interacting with other education accounts like FSU Education and Florida Education. Twitter may be helpful in the future to connect with people of similar interests.  The digital divide has the potential to create a split between students and can affect a student's academic success. Students with easy access to computers and the internet may have more experience and therefore feel more confident with the materials. This may give those students with easy access an advantage to succeed academically. As a teacher, I will most likely come across students with different digital resources. I will make sure to do my best to help the students who have more difficulty gaining access to digital materials. For example, do partner assignments and students can share ...

The grade level I chose is Kindergarten. The standard I chose addresses teaching students how to produce writings and exploring new digital tools. I feel that I am working towards mastering this skill set. I am able to produce writing but am still unfamiliar with some digital tools.  The resource I chose was “Parts with Purpose: Examining the Parts of a Book.” This resource works for kindergarten language arts. This resource goes over fiction and nonfiction, definitions of author, illustrator, front covers, titles, back covers, title page and publishers. I would use this resource for a classroom of kindergarteners. The parts of the book are important to know. We are always surrounded by books whether it is a physical copy or online. This is an essential skill to have from an early age.  As a teacher, it is important to be a proficient internet searcher. You want to make sure you are sharing accurate information. Moving forward, I will use Google's “advanced search.” I w...
