  1. The school website I visited is Florida State University’s Undergraduate Accounting page. On the public page, I see a short summary of the class that includes what knowledge students will be gaining and what to be prepared for. In addition, it states requirements and prerequisites for students who want to take this class. Lastly, the grade system is explained and includes the grade needed to pass the course.

  1. In the future, I envision using technology in my classroom to accomplish my professional responsibilities more efficiently and effectively. For example, I envision myself using technology to communicate with students as well as parents. Technology is an effective way to communicate with many people at once. This may be through a Facebook group or through a page like Canvas. A teacher productivity tool I would use would be Weebly. This way, I will be able to create a website for students and teachers to access and receive information. 

  2. I have never used a wiki platform before this class. We used PB Works, and I feel I had a good experience using it. I liked that it was not too complicated, and I was able to navigate it even though it was new to me. Because of the simplicity, I could see myself using it in the future with my students. I could use it for group collaborations and projects.

  By working on the Web design assignment, I acquired many new skills. I had never created a website before and this was my first time. Because of this, I initially had some difficulty. However, while working through the process I got the hang of it and was able to finish my website. I actually had a lot of fun doing it! I like that it was easy to navigate, but I wish that there were more layout options. In the future, I will use what I learned to create a page for my classroom.   When a person has a copyright for their work, it allows others to use it while the owners also receive proper attribution and sometimes payments. Copyright gives others permission to utilize someone else's work. Copyright is essentially protection when using another person's intellectual or creative work. In education, it is often that teachers need to use someone else's work to teach the material. As a teacher, I feel I would deal with these concepts by primarily teaching with my own material. Then I would add on by using someone else's video, writing, or book as examples in order to help my students understand the material more in depth. Sometimes, another person may give my students extra information I did not or it could provide another perspective. The Fair Use guidelines are featured in the Copyright Act of 1976.   I learned a lot from completing Assignment 5 PowerPoint Interaction. For example, I learned how to hyperlink to a different page on the same PowerPoint. I also learned how to disable the “next” setting on the PowerPoint. Although I had a sound on a PowerPoint slide, it was not the correct way. I struggled figuring out how to do this. Next time, I will make sure to improve this when adding sound.  As a teacher, I will definitely use data collection (surveys) in my classroom. I may teach elementary school, therefore there is not one single subject to teach. However, I could collect data such as the student’s grades on a test. I could compare the data between my students and see the average test grade.
